This is a high end top deck of an Empire chest. Dovetail joints were incorporated in its sturdy construction. I never had the chest and this deck doesn’t have its original drawers, but it has so much going for it in terms of its appearance and use of highly figured tiger maple and flame birch woods. It measures 51 ½ inches wide by 12 ½ inches deep.

These are a set of pine drawers that I veneered in bird’s eye maple for a client who then had problems and didn’t pay for them. So I ended up with the drawers but not the chest. They are beautiful drawers and I hope someone can make good use of them. The bottom 3 drawers measure 35 inches wide by 17 ¼ inches deep. The top drawer is larger and measures 20 inches deep. Each drawer is 5 7/8 inches tall.

These two pieces aren’t original to each other but they could be made to fit together. The base is an original federal period secretary base with figured mahogany drawer fronts with ivory escutcheons. The top is made of mixed woods. It has some missing drawers in the interior.
